What do you think a 97 ACR with a rod knocking is worth other wise good shape 120k on the car.
Also I heard you can have Koni's rebuilt has anyone done this and how much does it cost.
Has anyone rebuilt or had someone rebuild a DOHC? How much did it run?

when i bought my car from the dealership, they claimed they had done an $1800 rebuild to the engine (SOHC though) after the previous owner had been complaining of a knocking coming from the engine. i don't now how true this is, if it really cost $1800, what they really fixed, or anymore than that though. i wouldn't be surprised if it cost something close to that cause there is a lot of work involved.
konis can be revalved, though i'm not exactly sure on the cost. try running a search for it on the org. i'm pretty sure it has come up a few times there.
and i don't think i would ask for much more than $1500-1800 for the car depending on how clean it is aesthetically.

I wouldn't pay much over $1k for it. I got my '97 ACR coupe w/ 60k miles for $3300 in April. You've seen my car, it kinda needs paint but its very clean and solid overall, and came with ~$1k in useful mods.
Tru-Choice is the preferred rebuilder of Koni's, I think they are even in Ohio or at least close to us Cincinnatians. Cost depends on if you go stock rebuild, or you can get more dampening, have them add dampening adjustability (stock is just rebound), and even have them shortened. IIRC a standard rebuild is a tad less than a new set of yellows, and maxed-out will set you back about $2k. Check the auto-x board on .org you should be able to get a better idea on pricing.
Edit: yeah if you can get it for $800-1k I'd jump on it. Just begging for a 2.4 IMO.

I have to waite for him to get to work and talk to the guy. I have been thinking about a couple options.
1.) turbo 2.0 DOHC
2.) 2.4 swap w/ juice
I just started looking into 1st gens and have alot to learn. I was hoping to get a running car and be able to drive it. It can set in the garage till I figure out what I'm going to do and get the money to do it some how.
