Finally put my summer wheels/tires on.

American Racing 24s (35mm offset) with the new model falken azenis sports (RT-615) up front, and my old azenis RT-215s in the rear.
I must say, I almost have to relearn driving my car after being on skinny winter tires for months. :)
But oh the body roll and weight transfer. :? Looks like I might have to do suspension goodies sooner than I thought because it's so bad. haha
Stock 86k mile highline suspenion with 140k or so miles on the front cross member/control arms/bushings. :shock: Those have to be pretty tired.

First gear is so much nicer now. It's hard to spin the tires! The new azenis, by the feel of my hand (and others who have groped my tires!) is that the sidewall isn't as stiff as the older ones. Should help out those crazy people who drag race on 'autocross' tires. ;)
Granted, I do have a manual rack and the worn near base model suspension, but I do have a bit of weight out. I knew neons handled decently from the factory in almost any form, and I think mine is pretty grippy, but now I really would like to make this a 'g machine'. Poly bushings, quality coilovers, big swaybars, 16:1 rack (maybe even with power steering!) Mmmm, that sounds so nice.
Of course people love pics. Only chance I had today was to do it quick and dirty. I work too much and haven't hand washed my car since October? :(

One wheel/tire with center cap and balancing weight comes out to 31 lbs, 15.8 oz or so. Minus the weight of the tire, the wheels are 13.5lbs. Not bad for getting all four for $60. A junkyard actually saved them for me, as I am the 'neon guy'. :) I've been going there since 1998, and it's usually for neon stuff, so I guess the name is ok. :D
These replaced the old combo of the steel wheels and covers, which are ~18lbs each. Saved 18lbs all together, but to be honest I don't even feel it. I have a bunch of crap in the car though, and more gas than usual.
I did have all the center caps, but they were old and brittle, only one survived. I pulled 4 off of another junkyard car with 4 bolt ar-24 wheels, but they don't have the american racing logo left on them. I'll probably use them all the same, I'm not about to spend $10/cap on $60 wheels. heh
If anyone's wondering, the $60 is pretty close to what I would say they are worth. These wheels certainly arn't mint, and follow the 10ft/10inches rule. Well, everyone calls it something else, but they look good from 10 feet, but from ten inches... ;)

kinda like the stock sport wheels you sold me that i use for winter duty. :D :lol:

looks good though chris... you should definitely work on suspension! it's about the only thing i have majorly invested in on my car, and i'm glad i did. 8)

MY GOD MAN!!!... your car looks like OMG... 100x better with the summer wheels on... OMG, I think I bust a nutt on my keybard... shit :lol:

But yea... ummm... suspension... hmmm.... yeah... good suspension is fun :D

I regret selling those sport wheels. hehe

Yeah, I think it looks a lot better. Still not washed/waxed yet!
I might even do a decent paintjob on the hood soon. :shock:
Including both sides, AND THE HINGES. omg :lol:
