Remote turbo talk!

Latest thing on my mind. I think I have most of the details worked out as well.
It's unique, it works, it's cheaper if you can't make your own log manifold, the sound is just wicked, and you can keep your header/exhaust setup.
There is plenty of room under the neon for the intake pipe to get back to the engine. I would probably just reuse exhaust pipe if I could.
The turbo would be something small, and since this is just for fun I'd only want 180 whp or so.
It's all in my head. ;)
The oil will be taken from the oil sender port and sent back to the turbo. Then from the turbo it will go to a sump, then to an electric oil pump, back to the oil pan. :) The pump is like $180 though! heh
The only thing I worry about now, as someone mentioned on another board, is that the turbo would be easy to steal! Makes me paranoid, so I would try and use a stock muffler to hide it. :?
Right now I want to try megasquirt. I need a project (lol, another). My friend can get me a laptop for cheap (his dad's) and I want to build a wideband o2 setup as well. Would be nice!
I'm thinking $1,000 total, all diy and junkyard goodness. It's tempting. Add another $300 for things I'm probably missing or mispricing. ;)
Discuss. :)
EDIT: May as well add some cool links.

And, this page I came across from a guy who did his own kit, with a little write up/pic action) http://www.khturbo.net/

Personally I think you woould be better off with an SRT-based setup, but I am interested to see how it turns out. I've heard good thins about these setups in V8 F-bodies, but I'm not sure if they are the best idea for a 4-cyl. AFAIK this would be the first remote turbo in a Neon.

The problem with the srt-4 mani is that I would want a dohc head. And I would need all the dohc stuff. I'm trying to keep it budget oriented. ;)
Yeah, since it's a tiny engine, I'd get to use a small turdbo. :)
Looks like we might just try this on my friend's SHO first, since he has the sho, a welder, turbo bits, already. :)
